ABOUT
Stargivers Initiative is a non-profit organization run by a group of dedicated teenagers striving to help the homeless community of Regina, Saskatchewan. The initiative began in the summer of 2020 and has worked to improve the lives of the homeless by donating to homeless shelters every month.
We started out by preparing sanitation and protection kits and donating to homeless shelters in Regina to provide protection against the covid pandemic. Our involvements have since extended to other areas. We donate to multiple homeless shelters around the city, including Carmichael Outreach and Soul’s Harbour. We contact the shelters to determine which items are highly needed at that time to accommodate their needs, and we deliver essential kits including food, water, toiletries, hygiene products, and sanitation items. We host backpack drives and donate the filled bags to shelters to hand them out. Furthermore, we have work alongside Warriors of Hope in meal services and stock up numerous community fridges across the city.
WHAT WE DO
Our goal is to donate kits with essentials, such as food, water, hygiene products and more, for the homeless community. We aim to start with Regina, Saskatchewan and hope to grow our organization into other areas of the province.
In our kits, we hope to include:
Hygiene Products- toothpaste, toothbrush
Protection Products- masks
Food Products- granola bars, bagged snacks
